What’s your h-index?

How the h-index in Scopus is calculated and where to find it are popular topics; in fact, a post about the h-index from just over a year ago continues to be among our top viewed and shared content. However, a lot has happened in Scopus since last year, making it a good time to re-visit the h-index. Here are 5 facts about Scopus and the h-index:

  1. The h-index is no longer limited to post-1995 data, a result of our Cited Reference Expansion Program.
  2. The h-index includes citations from expanded book coverage (but you can also easily exclude it from your calculation if desired).
  3. You can calculate the h-index for a single author, multiple authors or even for selected documents.
  4. You can access an h-index from the author details, the analyze author output and the citation overview pages.
  5. Author self-citations can be excluded from calculating an h-index.

Tip: The accuracy of your h-index also depends on the accuracy of your author profile. Use the Scopus Feedback Wizard to make sure your profile is up-to-date.

Analyze thousands of search results in less than a minute

The next time you search in Scopus, gain more insight into your results by using the Analyze search results feature located at the top of your search results page. It provides a visual analysis of your results broken up into 7 categories (year, source, author, affiliation, country/territory, document type and subject area). For example, let’s say you want to know which organizations are producing the most content about “wearable technology.” You run your search, which results in a list of over 4,000 publications. But then you click on Analyze search results, open the Affiliation tab, and find your answer—all in about 30 seconds. Then you decide to browse the other tabs and discover that 54.8% of the documents matching your results are from Conference Papers, helping you isolate the most cutting-edge research. Analyze search results provides a quick and effective way of breaking down and understanding your search results to guide you to the information you’re looking for.

World Environment Day (WED), 5 June is a widely celebrated global day for positive environmental action. The theme for this year’s WED is ‘Seven Billion Dreams. One Planet. Consume with Care’. To commemorate this important day, ICIMOD is organizing some activities at the headquarters in Kathmandu, Nepal and in the Country Office in Pakistan.

Programme for children from earthquake-affected areas

This year, we are focusing on working with children from earthquake-affected areas who are living in temporary camps in Kathmandu through active experiential learning workshops to inspire them to celebrate, conserve, and rebuild their natural worlds and explore the inevitable strength and resilience of nature, as well as its vulnerability.

One hundred children of age group 8-16 from internally displaced people’s camps evacuated to Kathmandu from Sindhupalchowk have been brought to the ICIMOD Knowledge Park at Godavari for the programme and are participating in environmental workshops and other edutainment activities.

In addition to the above, learning and edutainment programmes for children are being organized in 10 learning spaces in earthquake affected areas, e.g., Khokana, Dolkha, Bhaktapur, Sindhupalchowk, Sankhu, Chhatra Deurali, Kirtipur and Soyambhu.

Launch of ICT for Mountain Development Award 2015

We are also launching the ICT for Mountain Development Award 2015 on the occasion of the World Environment Day for the second consecutive year. The award recognizes innovations and the use and applications of information and communications technology for development (ICTD) that help to promote mountain development and environmental conservation. Celebrating World Environment Day 2015 (5 June)
Improving disaster resilience

Lessons from the Nepal earthquake
As the world celebrates World Environment Day, central Nepal, where ICIMOD is headquartered, is still recovering from a large earthquake that hit on 25 April. We cannot think of the usual topics surrounding World Environment Day – clean water, clean air, well managed natural resources – without thinking of what the earthquake has done to the people of the region. To what extent can their lives be restored?

“Mountain people are resilient”. This is a phrase that has often been repeated, especially after the earthquake struck central Nepal on 25 April – an earthquake that serves as a reminder that most people in the Hindu Kush Himalayan region live in earthquake-prone areas. But what does it mean to be resilient? At what level is resilience needed? What can be done to increase resilience? A common definition of resilience is the ability to readily recover from shocks: the ability to bounce back, to pick up the pieces, rebuild, and carry on. Many people in remote mountain villages salvaged pieces of broken houses and started building shelters long before outside help arrived, showing signs of resiliency. Many who did not have the ability or option to build temporary shelters slept in the open until tarpaulins or tents arrived days or weeks later. However, the true test of resilience for mountain societies will be the time it takes to recover, and whether a stronger society can be built.

Mountain communities in the HKH region are prone not only to earthquakes, but, depending on their location, also to landslides or avalanches, to flash floods, to droughts, and to social challenges such as the outmigration of the able-bodied population. Their remote locations make access to services and markets a challenge. With a changing climate, their vulnerability to many outside shocks have increased, which also tests the resilience of mountain communities.

What have we learned from the Nepal earthquake that we can apply to make people safer, and to speed up the recovery from disasters that will inevitably continue to strike various parts of the HKH region?

First, the resilience of mountain people goes beyond individuals and communities and involves a web of actors including governments, local institutions, the international community, and organizations like ICIMOD, whose mission is to enable sustainable and resilient mountain development. It is inspiring to see how people from all walks of life have come together to help in the aftermath of the earthquake.

Second, communication infrastructure is essential. When walking to the nearest town can take three days, a working mobile phone is essential to call for help. While Nepal’s telecom operators hurried to bring damaged towers back into operation, many people were unable to make calls because they had nowhere to charge their phones. Wide availability of solar charging stations appears to be important.

Third, an effective central information collection and processing infrastructure is important. ICIMOD deployed a large team working around the clock to provide Nepal’s Ministry of Home Affairs with the latest maps and remote sensing images to help assess damage, identify landslides, and warn about possible river blockages. But it took many valuable days for the extent of the damage to become known, and for aid distribution to reach the most needy. Having a plan and a system in place, rather than building it after the worst disaster of a generation hits, is important.

Fourth, we came to learn that helicopter landing sites are important, especially in remote mountain areas. While helicopters from four countries flew around Nepal, often to places that had never been visited by helicopter before, one major constraint was finding suitable landing sites. Many villages are on terrain that that is too steep for a large helicopter to land. As schools are rebuilt, it is will be important to incorporate a flat space large enough for a helicopter to land.

Fifth, terrain and weather data is very important for the coordination of rescue and relief efforts. ICIMOD’s Atmosphere Initiative team provided essential services to 2,751 rescue and relief flights in tricky terrain.

Sixth, backups and redundancies are important. While Nepal was lucky that its only international airport stayed open. It had no back-up. Important networks – for communication, transport, and energy – need to be designed so that the loss of individual links does not bring the whole network to a halt.

Seventh, tradition and habit alone do not protect. Most deaths occurred when traditionally built houses crumbled, crushing inhabitants with heavy stones or bricks. More deaths occurred when landslides happened in places where there hadn’t been landslides in a long time. Earthquakes happen far enough apart that decades of safety does not mean places will stay safe. Earthquake resistant houses need to be built in safe locations.

As central Nepal embarks on a rebuilding process, it is important to incorporate these lessons, as well as to see the rebuilding as an opportunity to ensure that what is rebuilt is better than what was there before the earthquake – that people in rebuilt communities have access to clean water and sanitation, that inhale less smoke from cooking, and that their houses and livelihoods survive the next disaster.

I am confident that mountain communities will rebuild and transform into a stronger society. To do so, let us join hands, and also learn and share knowledge from this experience, an important role for ICIMOD.

ICIMOD Earthquake Brief: 10 June 2015

ICIMOD continued to support, coordinate and rally the broad regional and international teams in the ongoing post-disaster reconstruction and rehabilitation efforts of the Government of Nepal. The ICIMOD Task Force on Geo-hazards continued to map and assess hazards created by landslides, rock falls, and avalanches in the aftermath of the two earthquakes of 25 April and 12 May 2015.

Among others, ICIMOD worked with teams from the Governments of India (Indian Space Research Organization – ISRO), China (Chinese Academy of Sciences), and Nepal, as well as other bodies like the National Aerospace and Space Administration (NASA), the University of Arizona, United States Agency for International Development (USAID), Esri, Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA), Digital Globe, Disaster Charter, and the US Geological Survey (USGS).

Nepal Earthquake 2015: Disaster Relief and Recovery Information Platform

  • The ‘Nepal Earthquake 2015: Disaster Relief and Recovery Information Platform’ (NDRRIP), jointly developed by the Government of Nepal  and ICIMOD with technical support from the Environmental System Research Institute (Esri), was formally adopted by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA) as part of its ‘Nepal DRR Portal’ (
  • The NDRRIP aims to contribute to the nationwide reconstruction and rehabilitation operations by enabling rational planning and decision-making for resource allocation and mobilisation, and in fostering coordination among the various actors on the ground.
  • The NDRRIP acts as a unified information hub with regional and global partners including space agencies, UN organizations and International Charter, donor agencies, academic and research organizations, relief organizations, local NGOs, private sector organizations, and the civil society.
  • The Platform provides overall snapshot using interactive maps and infographics at multiple levels and capturing key facts and figures regarding demography and damage (with interactive visualization before and after the disaster at the household level), needs assessment and the response required, and rapid damage assessment.
  • The NDRRIP also provides information regarding various relief organizations active on the ground by geographic region and key related useful links on Nepal Earthquake 2015.
  • With support from key partners, ICIMOD is providing technical support to coordinate and integrate relevant data and information from multiple sources to the Government of Nepal. These include high resolution satellite imageries, ancillary and field level data including crowdsourced information with mobile devices, high resolution aerial imagery sourced from the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle missions, as well as the data sourced from the social media and the Internet, among others.
  • ICIMOD continued to provide maps of affected areas to both Government and non-Government agencies to support their relief and rehabilitation efforts. As of 9 June, about 120 maps and information products were provided to various institutions and individuals including the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers.

Geo-hazard Assessment

  • The Expert Group formed by the Government of Nepal carried out the ‘Rapid Reconnaissance Survey’ of the earthquake-affected districts of Dolakha, Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading, Sindhupalchowk, and Gorkha. The Expert Group had 18 teams with representatives from various ministries and departments, including experts from ICIMOD. The teams visually inspected settlement areas, assessed risk of landslide, collected photographs, and mapped landslide areas. They also identified critical settlement areas for temporary relocation.
  • The Expert Group prepared a field report for which more than 40 complimentary maps were prepared at ICIMOD. These maps show instabilities and possible relocation sites for high-risk human settlements. All the field data from the Survey are featured on NDRRIP.
  • The Draft Report was presented by Department of Mines and Geology (DMG) to the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of Nepal, on 8 June 2015 in the presence of two Deputy Prime Ministers, Prakash Man Singh and Bam Dev Gautam. At the same time, ICIMOD demonstrated the online application of landslide hazard assessment to the gathering.
  • An international team of experts supported by ICIMOD examined the condition of Nepal’s most dangerous glacial lakes. Over 300 lakes were examined and a report prepared. This report provides an update of the situation at Tsho Rolpa and Imja Tsho, and the potential of a glacial lake outburst flood (GLOF) from them. Tsho Rolpa has been especially worrisome due to its location near the epicenter of the largest aftershock.
  • Study of a satellite image of Tsho Rolpa taken on 17 May – five days after the nearby magnitude 7.3 aftershock – by NASA’s EO-1 satellite, and more recently by the Japan/U.S. instrument ASTER (Advanced Spaceborne Thermal Emission and Reflection Radiometer) aboard the NASA Terra satellite, shows no definitive evidence that Tsho Rolpa’s moraine or other parts of the glacier or lake had been damaged. However closer monitoring is required. For more details, please visit:


  • On Thursday 4 June, a six-member delegation led by the Geological Survey of India and facilitated by the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu and coordinated by the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) visited ICIMOD. The team was in Nepal to explore the possibility of helping the Government of Nepal to develop rapid landslide susceptibility maps. Since the monsoon season has almost begun, developing meaningful landslide susceptibility maps, and identifying landslide prone areas and safe sites for relocation is crucial. These maps will help make appropriate decisions with actionable information for 14 highly impacted districts.
  • On  Monday 1 June,  the Executive Director and CEO of the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) Consulting, Dr Naveed Anwar, visited ICIMOD to explore possibilities for collaborative and integrated approach for reconstruction and rehabilitation pilot activities in Nepal using the AIT Habitech building system technology.
  • Besides, a number of departments from various Government ministries, UN organizations, donor agencies, universities and academic institutions, civil society organizations, and interested private sector organizations are paying visit to ICIMOD to learn about the Centre’s ongoing efforts on earthquake disaster response.

Expose mahasiswa dengan tema “Manajemen Jasa Ekosistem melalui Penguatan Identitas Kota Pusaka dan Revitalisasi Lanskap Ruang Terbuka Biru/Ruang Terbuka Hijau Kota Bogor” dibuka oleh Walikota Bogor Dr. Bima Arya Sugiarto di Ruang Rapat I Balaikota Bogor. Expose ini merupakan salah satu bentuk kegiatan kepedulian akademik dari civitas academica IPB dalam merespon pembangunan dan pengembangan serta manajemen kota Bogor di bidang lingkungan dan tata-kota. Dua mata kuliah program sarjana, yaitu “Pelestarian Lansakap Sejarah dan Budaya” mahasiswa semester 5, dan “Pengelolaan Lanskap” semester 7, serta satu mata kuliah pascasarjana “Lanskap Perdesaan dan Pertanian” dalam satu semester telah melakasanakan praktikumnya dengan mengambil obyek-obyek strategis di dalam kota Bogor. Kegiatan ini dikordinasi oleh Prof. Dr. Hadi Susilo Arifin bersama dosen-dosen lainnya, yaitu Dr. Nurhayati HS Arifin, Prof. Dr. Wahju Qamara Mugnisjah, Dr Kaswanto dan Dr. Syartinilia. Kegiatan ini diikuti sekitar 150 mahasiswa S1 semester 5 dan semester 7 PS Arsitektur Lanskap, dan 10 mahasiswa S2 dan 2 mahasiswa S3 dari PS Arsitektur Lanskap, PS Agronomi, dan PS Pengelolaan Sumberdaya Alam dan Lingkungan. Kegiatan expose ini selalu mendapat dukungan penuh dari Dr. Ernan Rustiadi, Dekan Fakultas Pertanian IPB. Dengan dipaparkannya hasil ini di depan Wali Kota Bogor serta pimpinan SKPD terkait diharapkan keberadaan kampus dan kegiatannya tidak seperti menara gading. Tapi bisa menjadi referensi untuk diterapkan di lapang.

Bogor telah ditetapkan sebagai salah satu kota pusaka di Indonesia. Oleh karena itu diperlukan perhatian pemerintah, masyarakat serta para pihak dalam melestarikan sumberdaya baik yang tangible maupun yang intangible yang telah menjadikan Bogor berpredikat “the heritage city”. Tentu saja bukan hanya dari segi fisik ekologis saja, tetapi dalam budaya, kesadaran masyarakat dalam memahami kota pusaka, merasa memiliki serta mampu memelihara untuk keberlanjutannya. Oleh karena itu praktikum mata kuliah “Pelestarian Lanskap Sejarah dan Budaya” berkonsentrasi pada upaya penguatan karakter lanskap pada 6 zona yang potensi diusung sebagai wilayah bagian kota pusaka di kota Bogor. Keenam zona tersebut adalah kawasan yang dibangun masa Kolonial Eropah di Jl. Ahmad Yani hingga Air Mancur, kawasan yang dijadikan zona penyangga merupakan wilayah di sekeliling Kebun Raya Bogor, kawasan Kebun Raya Bogor, kawasan Karsten Plan yaitu Taman Kencana dan wilayah sekitarnya, Kawasan Pecinan Jl Surya Kencana dan sekitarnya, dan Kawasan Empang wilayah permukiman Arab.

Kota Bogor juga berkenginan untuk mewujudkan kota dengan konsep kota dalam taman, kota sejuta taman. Idiom tersebut tentunya tidak hanya diikuti dengan kegiatan pembangunan fisik taman-taman ketetanggaan, taman lingkungan, traffic island, jalur hijau jalan, sungai dan rel kereta api, hingga taman kota. Tetapi, juga pembangunan persepsi masyarakat, serta perubahan mind-set dalam berperilaku ramah terhadap lingkungan. Lebih jauh masyarakat juga harus mempunyai rasa memiliki. Bukan saja mereka dapat memanfaatkan taman-taman, ruang terbuka hijau dan ruang terbuka biru secara maksimal, tetapi mereka juga harus sadar perlu mengelolanya, memeliharanya secara partisipatif. Sehingga, berperilaku untuk tidak membuang sampah sembarangan saja perlu dilakukan pendekatan sosial budaya yang tepat. Maka Kuliah “Pengelolaan Lanskap” memberi perhatian pada 8 spot lanskap dari sekian banyak taman, RTH dan RTB yang sedang ditata atau didesain ulang di dalam kota Bogor. Ke delapan taman tersebut adalah Taman Situ Anggalena, Taman Cidepit, Taman Cipakancilan, Jalur Hijau Jl Riau, Taman Sempur, Jalur Hijau Jl Sempur, Pulau Gelis, danau Situ Gede. Sebagian besar permasalahan yang dijumpai adalah kebersihan dan perilaku pengguna yang sering membuang sampah sembarangan. Oleh karena itu rekomendasi ditujukan pada manajemen sampah yang ada di ruang terbuka biru dan ruang terbuka hijau. Perlu dilakukan sosialisasi bagaimana seharusnya kita memberlakukan sampah hingga pemanfaatan sampahnya sendiri. Di lain pihak, kesiapan perundang-undangan sampai dengan peraturan-peraturan perlu terus didisemininasikan melalui rekayasa sosial. Penyuluhan, pendampingan serta penyebaran informasi tersebut melalui poster, leaflet, booklet, serta tayangan yang menarik dan efektif. Pada akhirnya penegakan hokum perlu dilakukan pada setiap pelanggaran sebagai bentuk disinsentif, atau diberi pengharagaan bagi warga yang menjalankan peraturan sebagai bentuk insentif.

Pada expose bagian ketiga, mahasiswa pascasarjana melalui praktikum mata kuliah “Lanskap Perdesaan & Pertanian” mencermati Kelurahan Situ Gede sebagai saalah satu wilayah yang berada di Kota Bogor Barat. Sebagai “urban fringe”, Situ Gede memliki karakter lanskap perdesaan yang sangat kuat. Hal ini dicirikan dengan struktur lanskap pertanian yang dominan seperti sawah, tegalan, kebun campuran, pekarangan, situ, sungai, empang, serta hutan. Dengan jarak yang tidak jauh dari pusat kota, perdagangan dan jasa. Situ Gede sangat potensial sebagai wilayah yang bisa dikembangkan menjadi kawasan pertanian perkotaan, “urban agriculture”. Wilayah ini menghasilkan produk pertanian padi, palawija, talas, sayuran dataran rendah, ternak ungags, dan ternak besar, serta beragam pengusahaan ikan air tawar. Dengan segala aktivitas pertanian yang ada serta adanya danau Situ Gede, serta acara tahun regular seprti “ngobok lauk” bisa menjadi atraksi wisata pertanian. Pemberdaayaan ekonomi masyarakat di sini sangat berpotensi untuk diarahkan dalam peningkatan hospitality sebagai tuan rumah dalam kegiatan usaha “agrotourism”. Pemerintah Kota bersama IPB diharpkan bisa bersama-sama melakukan pembinaan, pendampingan serta pembangunan sarana-prasarana, infrastruktur yang lebih baik. Sama dengan wilayah kota Bogor lainnya. Pembinaan masyarakat untuk membiasakan hidup bersih, tertib, mengelola sampah rumah tangga dengan baik, tidak membuangnya secara sembarangan tetap harus digalakkan dengan penyuluhan-penyuluhan, serta penegakan hukum secara tegas. Dampak kotornya lingkungan tidak selalu terjadi secara internal, tapi bisa jadi factor external dari perilaku pengunjung atau aliran air dari parit-parit, sungai kecil, saluran irigasi yang dari arah hulu. Aliran air tersebut sudah membawa sampah-sampah plastik maupun sampah organik.

Selain presentasi secara oral dari 3 kelompok di atas, juga disajikan presentasi 20 poster. Diskusi expose bisa dilanjutkan pada sesi presentasi poster antara peserta expose dengan mahasiswa.

Duta atau Ambassador adalah orang yang dipilih langsung oleh suatu lembaga atau organisasi/ kelompok untuk mewakili kepentingan lembaga atau organisasi/kelompok tersebut, baik mewakili secara terbatas sesuai dengan tuntutan lembaga/organisasi yang bersangkutan, maupun secara penuh sesuai dengan keperluan yang dibutuhkan. Untuk itu setiap DUTA harus mengerti dan memahami benar tugas yang dibebankan kepadanya.

Selain itu, karena DUTA adalah representasi dari lembaga/organisasi, maka yang bersangkutan harus mewakili karakter atau image dari lembaga/organisasi tersebut, baik secara langsung maupun tidak langsung.

Seorang Duta Lingkungan misalnya, dia harus mengerti segala sesuatu tentang persoalan lingkungan. Jika yang bersangkutan adalah Duta Lingkungan Indonesia, maka dia harus memahami sejarah Indonesia secara keseluruhan, sejarah lingkungan, permasalahan, dan cara mengatasinya. Duta Lingkungan tersebut juga dapat mengkampanyekan semua gerakan yang berkaitan dengan lingkungan di Indonesia dan dunia.

Demikian juga halnya dengan Putri Indonesia, misalnya. Sosok dan penampilannya harus menampilkan ciri ke-Indonesiaan, baik dalam hal budaya, bahasa maupun tutur katanya. Dengan kata lain, yang bersangkutan mewakili sosok orang Indonesia di dunia luar/ internasional. Demikian juga dengan Miss Indonesia, Miss Earth, Putri Pariwisata Indonesia, L-Man dan sejenisnya.

Apakah yang bersangkutan mewakili IPB sebagai sebuah Institusi yang bertaraf nasional, bahkan internasional ? Sejauh mana DUTA INSTITUT mewakili IPB sebagai institusi, sebagai salah satu institusi perguruan tinggi yang sangat diandalkan di bidang pertanian ?

Atau DUTA INSTITUT, mewakili mahasiswa IPB yang energik, intelek, memiliki wawasan yang luas tentang dunia pertanian, dan memiliki akhlak dan budi pekerti yang tinggi? Seorang generasi muda Indonesia yang layak diteladani dan berpenampilan menarik baik dari segi intelektulitas/keilmuannya sebagai seorang mahasiswa yang layak untuk ditiru, maupun dari segi penampilan yang menarik untuk diikuti.

Peserta DUTA INSTITUT untuk periode 2014-2015 adalah mahasiswa berprestasi yang berasal dari 36 departemen yang ada di lingkungan IPB, masih aktif sebagai mahasiswa (baik pria maupun wanita) dan sedang tidak dalam cuti (pada saat pemilihan berlangsung). Selain itu, mereka direkomendasikan oleh departemen masing-masing yang dibuktikan dengan surat resmi.

Peserta yang terpilih menjadi calon DUTA INSTITUT, ditentukan oleh masing-masing departemen yang berada di bawah ruang lingkup IPB. Panitia pelaksana Pemilihan DUTA INSTITUT IPB tidak berhak memilih dan menentukan sendiri. Panitia hanya berhak menerima dan menyelenggarakan pendidikan dan seleksi yang dibantu oleh sejumlah Dewan Juri. Peserta yang yang sudah terpilih menjadi calon DUTA INSTITUT wajib mengikuti serangkaian program kegiatan yang sudah disusun oleh panitia penyelenggara. Panitia berhak menggugurkan hak keikutsertaan jika calon DUTA INSTITUT tidak dapat mengikuti seluruh atau sebagian program kegiatan yang sudah disusun oleh panitia penyelenggara, baik pada awal masa kegiatan maupun ditengah-tengah masa kegiatan sedang berjalan. Keputusan atas ini mutlak berada di tangan panitia penyelenggara setelah diadakan rapat internal panitia penyelenggara.
1. Tiap Peserta mendaftarkan diri pada panitia dengan membawa surat rekomendasi dari jurusan
2. Mengisi formulir sesuai dengan format yang sudah disediakan dengan menggunakan huruf balok dan tinta warna hitam
3. Mengikuti seluruh kegiatan sesuai dengan yang sudah dijadwalkan
4. Memakai seragam dan atribut lainnya sesuai dengan fungsinya dalam mengikuti seluruh kegiatan yang sudah dijadwalkan dan dibagikan oleh penitia penyelenggara
5. Seluruh peserta dibagi menjadi 3 kelompok. Masing-masing kelompok memiliki ketua yang dipilih dari anggota kelompok. Tiap kelompok didampingi oleh seorang Koordinator Kelompok.
6. Mengerjakan tugas yang diberikan oleh instruktur
7. Membuat laporan sesuai dengan tugas yang diberikan kepada Koordinator Kelompok masing-masing
8. Menerima secara mutlak hasil keputusan dewan juri/tim penilai.

Komunikasi dalam penyelenggaraan pemiihan DUTA INSTITUT antara peserta dengan panitia penyelenggara dapat dilakukan dalam beberapa cara, antara lain:

Komunikasi melalui keempat cara di atas dapat dilakukan setiap hari selama masa kegiatan berlangsung.

Setelah panitia penyelenggara menerima data nama calon DUTA INSTITUT dari setiap departemen, maka panitia akan menghubungi calon yang bersangkutan melalui email, dan para peserta diminta untuk mengisi formulir dalam bentuk lampiran email tersebut. Pengembalian formulir dilakukan dengan me-replay email panitia yang sudah disertakan dengan lampiran yang sudah diisi sesuai dengan permintaan panitia pada batas tanggal pengembalian.

Jika diperlukan, panitia sewaktu-waktu dapat meminta tambahan data di luar yang sudah ditentukan melalui ketiga alat komunikasi di atas, dan peserta yang bersangkutan wajib memenuhinya.

Program Kegiatan yang sudah disusun wajib diikuti oleh seluruh peserta calon DUTA INSTITUT.

Kegiatan yang wajib diikuti oleh seluruh calon DUTA INSTITUT adalah Pelatihan/Olah Fisik, Image Making, Sejarah IPB, Pengenalan Fakultas/Departemen yang berada di bawah lingkup IPB, Self Management, Performance and Etiquette, Personal Branding dan Communication and Public Speaking, serta Pengenalan Himpunan Alumni (HA) IPB. Sebelumnya tentu dilakukan pertemuan pendahuluan/Ice Breaking.
